October

October
Rocktober
My favorite time of year

Years ago my students used to sing those words in music class during the month of October. They loved it! So 90% of the time when I say October, I sing that song (in my head, not out loud)! It's the simple things in life that make me smile! A little side note- December is really my favorite time of year!

I spent most of October recovering from my car accident. I had to deal with insurance companies, rental car companies, the chiropractor and car salesmen. It has been a hassle but thankfully it looks like it is almost over.

I did manage to squeeze in a quick trip to see Hadley and Harper. They were having a fall festival at their school and I thought it would be fun to go with them.

Christmas is right around the corner and I am trying to get a Christmas card picture. Here are a few outtakes. Needless to say these will not be my Christmas card picture!

Facebook reminded me of this old memory.  Same spot just 5 years ago.
I mean look how cute they are?! I know I say it all the time but I am blessed that these girls are in my life!

Just one more funny picture!
I'm still trying to get a Christmas card picture! ha!

Jennifer is the room mom for the girls class and she made this craft for the silent auction at the fall festival. Each kid designed a heart.
Harper drew a picture of her and Hadley. So sweet!

They had this orange truck for a photo opportunity.

My fall festival outfit.

The sunset made for a pretty picture.

The girls tried out the rock climbing wall. They didn't make it to the top but they really worked hard to get there. I just don't think it was made for their short legs. They needed a wall that was made for a five year old.

A quick selfie before I headed home.

While Jennifer and I were shopping at Target we found these cute Halloween tees. I thought the candy in the belly was adorable. Jennifer found the slippers that Harper is modeling. Now they will have super warm feet.
I really wish they would stop growing. Harper looks so grown up in this picture.

My friend Traci popped into the Lilly store to say hello. I loved getting to see her. She moved to the beach in July!

I spent the next few days/weeks looking at cars and going to the chiropractor. My car was considered a total loss. I was very sad. My Acura was paid for and I really loved driving it.

Pure Barre was holding Pop-up classes the month of October in different locations. We hosted one of the classes for Asheville at the Lilly store.
I think it was a fun event. I hope all the Pure Barre ladies had a good time!

After countless hours of researching cars and several test drives I finally decided on a car. I went with a Honda Accord. I had such mixed emotions on getting a new car. I was so bummed out about not having my old car but kind of excited to get something new. I love the new car smell and all the fancy features this new car has but I have a car payment...and that is not fun!
Right before I drove off the lot.
If you need a new or pre-owned Honda or Acura, go see my friends Adam and Jeanie at Apple Tree Honda in Asheville. They were super patient with me while I tried to figure out what I wanted.

Jennifer sent this picture to me of Harper in her classroom. I think she has fabulous handwriting for a beginning Kindergartner.
(it was pajama day at school)

Remember when I posted about my cousin Lauren's gender reveal and baby shower?
Well baby Piper made her appearance this month!
Welcome to the world!

I had to run into the mall the other day and I ran into my friend Jamie! I hate going to the mall so running into Jamie made it worth the trip.

Halloween is not really my favorite time of year...I don't like scary costumes, ghost, movies, or being scared. So throwing on my Lilly Minnie Mouse ears is the extent of my dressing up.

Alex, Molly, and me (my Lilly's co-workers).
I think it is funny that we are all dressed in black. Black is a rare occurrence at the Lilly store!

I will end my October recap with these trick or treaters
Hadley Sophia the first , Unicorn Harper, Veterinarian McKinley, Dinosaur Miles

September

I was so excited for September to begin. August was not my favorite month so I was excited to have a fresh new start!

I started September with shorter hair!
I have shared my love for Pure Barre before. I started out the month by taking my 200th class. Only 50 more to go and I can become a member of the  250 club.

Speaking of Pure Barre, they celebrated their 2nd birthday!

I decided to take part in a Style Challenge on Instagram for a chance to win a new pair of Hunter Boots. Each day had certain themes and it was up to you to represent that theme with clothes. So most of my pictures for September are of me trying to be stylish. HA! (I do think I look kind of ridiculous in most of these pics!)

Style Challenge Picture #1
The theme was "Must Be Good Jeans"
It was also college game day. My Appalachian Mountaineers were playing the Clemson Tigers. I knew that App probably would not win that game (they didn't) but I still wanted to show my Alma Mater some support!

This is my cousin Meredith.
She turned 16 this month but she also had a big moment in her softball career. She hit her first home run over the fence!! It was a 3 run home run. Her team won the game 3-2 and she was the MVP of the game! I am so proud of her! She is such an amazing kid and athlete.

I want to remember this day as the time I sat on Interstate 40 for 3 hours.

Not really , I want to remember it as the time we celebrated these ladies birthdays!
Happy Birthday Mrs. Groves and Julia! It was a blast sitting on the interstate for 3 hours with you and enjoying a yummy meal at Ruth's Chris!

 Style challenge picture #2
It was Lovely Loafers.
I said it was a lovely day to be "loafer"ing around on my day off.

Style Challenge pic #3
The Bling Ring.
This dress was perfect for this day! My ring pop Lilly dress.

Style Challenge picture #4
Purple, Lilac, and Lavender

Style Challenge Picture #5
The theme was Black to Basic.
Well this Lilly girl doesn't own much black so my black to basic was the classic Lilly shift. After all, it all started with a juice stand!

We celebrated my cousin Lauren and baby Piper with a Piper & Co baby shower.

After the shower I drove down to Pinehurst to spend some time with some of my favorites! It was rainy and it rained the entire time I was there!

I rarely go to the movies so I had to take a picture to document that I was at the movies.
We saw The Intern and it was cute.

The next day I had lunch with these cuties! I still can't believe they are kindergartners!

When we got home Hadley, Harper, and I played school. We actually did all their homework for the week.
It was fun getting to help the girls. I enjoyed "playing" school.

It was my last night with the girls so we snuggled on the couch and took selfies and made a few videos to send to my friend Kelly. Kelly was in the hospital having her baby! The girls were so excited about the baby!

I had to be at work on Tuesday afternoon. I got up early with the girls and chatted with them before they left for school. Later on that afternoon I was looking through my pictures and saw this picture. I can't tell you how much this picture brightened my day.

Because on my way home and to work this happened...
I was in a car accident on I-40. It happened so fast and was so scary. I am beyond thankful that I am okay. I have been sore and stiff for several days. I know that God took care of me that day because it could have been much worse.

I was sitting still on I-40 because of another accident about 3 miles ahead of me. The next thing I remember is being hit from behind and slamming into the car in front of me. From what I understand a van hit the truck behind me and somehow ended up slamming into the back of my car too. In all there were four cars involved. I was about an hour away from home and I was by myself. The state trooper working the wreck was so kind to me and let me sit in his car while I waited on my parents. I was nervous and talked a lot. Bless him!

I am still waiting to hear about my car. Hopefully this week I will learn more. Bad things happen in threes. So I think this is my third bad thing. First -  my car was hit by a tree. Second - my wallet was stolen. Third - my car accident. So guess what friends?! The rest of my year should be fabulous!

Something great did happen on this day! My friend Kelly had her baby! Baby Thomas was born!

I can't wait to meet this beautiful baby boy! I love him and his mommy so so much!

August

 August
I wanted to title this post a series of unfortunate events.  I had some not so fun moments in August. But overall I guess it wasn't so bad...

It started out pretty good. We had an anniversary sale at work and the Lilly jeep came to visit.

When I walked out to my car that day I discovered a tree had fallen and hit my car.

I got to go see the musical Cinderella! It was amazing!

One of the fun perks of working at Lilly is getting to play dress up when the new stuff arrives.

August was turning out to be okay when these cute kids came to visit.
My friends and I played tourist in Asheville. We rode the trolley around town!

My cousin Lyndsay started college. Her mom sent me this picture. Lyndsay is holding Otis. Otis is  the bear we gave her when she was a baby. Otis is going to college too!

Mom and I gave Mamaw Mary her first Lilly! (she hates having her picture made!)

McKinley started school and wore a super cute dress.

Around this time my wallet was stolen. So that added a few days of stress. Boo!

Just because I thought the sky was pretty and I needed a reminder that everything will be okay.

Hadley and Harper started Kindergarten so I traveled down so I could be with Jennifer on the first day of school. When I arrived the girls gave me a few pictures. I love this picture of the three of us!
They are growing up too fast!

While my car was in the shop my rental was a Jeep Wrangler.  We took the top off and rode around town. The girls loved the Jeep!

My favorite thing to do in their town is to go have a homemade Orangeade.

Happy girls on their first day of school.

After we dropped the girls off at school, Jennifer and I shopped around town. I got locked in the bathroom. I kind of panicked for about five minutes but eventually got the door opened. Thank goodness!

And just a picture of the cutest kindergartners and me.
