Beach trip 2015

Last week I traveled down to Cherry Grove, SC and met my friends for a beach vacation. I was thrilled to be going to the beach. My last beach trip was two years ago when I went to Ocean City, Maryland.

I was not looking forward to the six hour drive. It was long and I was over it by the second hour. I traveled down on Saturday evening so I could spend four days on the beach. It was dark when I arrived so the next morning when I woke up and saw our view I was in awe. I thought it was beautiful. It might not be the an oceanview but it was calm and relaxing.

Our house was on a channel/sound. The lot had water all around it. We spent a lot of time at the house just relaxing and hanging out.

The first day was spent around the pool and this was my view for most of the day.

Harper wanted me to take her picture.

 I love these sweet girls.

Winston, Jennifer's dog, enjoyed his time at the beach too.

We played a few games of cornhole.

Later on that night the kids went crabbing.

Harper has no fear!

The sunset.

The next day we hung around the pool  for most of the day. This is also the day I got sunburned and my laying around the pool ended! I guess not being in sun for two years caught up with me.

We decided to pack up and walk down to the beach. This was my only time seeing the ocean. I know I should be a little sad about that but I was in pain from my sunburn so it was perfectly fine with me.

The girls enjoyed jumping waves
and Myles enjoyed playing in the sand!

The guys went and got some chicken for us and we had a sandy beach picnic. Hadley sat with me for a while and we just chilled.

The whole crew

On Tuesday we stayed indoors for some putt-putt.

My friend, Sara Beth, made us tee shirts for the trip! So we decided that this would be the perfect day to match!
If you look at my arm in this picture you can see how red it is from the sunburn!

A selfie with my Harper! Look how cute the elephant shirts turned out! Thanks Sara Beth!

And look how cute this kid is.

On Wednesday I covered up head to toe in 50 sunscreen and a tee shirt and shorts to sit by the pool to watch these girls swim and read a book.

Hadley jumped off the side of the pool (without floaties) and was so proud of herself!
Kim and Sara Beth opted to stay out of the sun and go shopping! They found these cute rides for the kids to ride around on.

That night we got ready to do something fun! Go to the rides in Cherry Grove!
Sweet cousins

Since it was my last night I watched the sunset for one last time.

July

July.
I spent the 4th at the store working with one of my favorites, Alex! She makes working at Lilly on a holiday more enjoyable!
I love a theme so dressing for the 4th of July was fun!

Jennifer sent me this picture of the girls before they went to watch fire works.
I want time to stop right now. I don't think I am ready for them to start school!

I didn't go watch fireworks. We just had a family cook out and sat on my cousin's porch. My aunt Catherine and I were chilly and wrapped up in blankets! On the fourth of July! Only in the mountains.
I think our view for the evening was just as pretty as fireworks.

I just had to include this picture in my July recap. Again...time needs to stop!

I put myself on a buying freeze at work. So for six weeks I didn't buy a thing! I was excited to stop the freeze and buy this top! Definitely one of my new favorites!

Another big thing happened at the Lilly shop...
I got my monogram on the wall in one of the dressing rooms!
It's the little things that make me happy.

We traveled to South Carolina to watch my cousin Meredith play in a softball tournament! Since they live in Virginia we really never have the opportunity to watch her play. We were so happy that we got to go and see her play. We had a blast cheering her on. She is really good at what she does. I hope we have the chance to watch her more!

The last week of July was spent at the beach with my friends! This was my view for the week!

June

June was full of celebrations! Graduations, donuts, babies, friends, and weddings.

At the beginning of June my cousin, Lyndsay, graduated from high school in Virgina. Several members of my family made the seven hour trip to celebrate this milestone.

June 5th happened to be national donut day. So I did some research and found a Duck Donuts in Charlottesville, VA. I love a Duck Donut.

My cousin, Tanya, made this to display at Lyndsay's graduation party.  It's a picture of Lyndsay's first day of school as a kindergartener and her last day of school as a senior. I thought this was such a neat idea! And I will admit...I cried just a little bit when I saw this.

The graduate!

We love our sweet Lyndsay Lou!

The next weekend we had my cousin Lauren's gender reveal. I wore pink because I was hoping for a girl!

And guess what? I was right! Lauren is having a girl!

I'm a big fan of traditions. My school friends always plan a trip to the Grove Park Spa to celebrate the end of the school year. This year we just celebrated our friendship. (I didn't have an end of the school year to celebrate!) I hope no matter where life takes us that we will always find a way to celebrate our friendship with each other! I love these girls so much!

And soon we will be celebrating a new baby for my friend Kelly! I can't wait to have a new little one to love!

I also celebrated my one year anniversary at Palm Village! I love my Lilly dream job!

Another fun celebration was the wedding of my friend Brooke! I did my student teaching with Brooke's mom. I love that I still have a special friendship with these girls!

The beautiful bride!

Father's Day was the next day and to celebrate I think I broke my toe on my maxi dress! I don't have a picture of my dad and me because of this...

You can thank me later for sharing a picture of my toe! Ha!

At the end of the month I made a short trip to pinehurst! I love any time I get to spend with my favorite girls!
And my favorite dog!

May

How I spent the month of May...

It was an exciting time at Palm Village Asheville. Our director of stores, Eleanor, got married!

We made sure Lilly Pulitzer was represented!

Mr and Mrs Nelson

It was a magical and fun night.

My mom was my plus one. It was also Mother's Day weekend. So it was nice to spend that time with her.

Jennifer had some professional pictures made of the girls. They were just too cute!

The girls came to visit for a weekend. We went to eat at one of my favorites, Wayside. The girls loved it too.
We visited the new outlets in Asheville on a rainy Saturday.
And we goofed off in Target...
At Lilly we got ready for our Splash into Summer weekend. I had to buy this dress immediately. It is so comfy and I think adorable.
I took Pure Barre a few times this month.
I got this graduation invitation in the mail from a former student. I love getting invitations from kids I taught. It makes me happy to think they haven't forgotten me!

We had family pictures at church

Mom and I took a quick trip to this place.
Spa days are a favorite!

These cuties graduated pre-school.

May was busy and fun! June looks like it will be just as busy. We have a graduation, gender reveal party, and another wedding to attend!
