#moeeveryday2014 week 6

 Day 36
I went shopping for a headband for the Princess race. I asked for help picking out which headband I should wear on race day. It was pretty much a split decision. I love the bottom headband. I think it is pretty and I have already worn it. But I decided to go with the top headband for the race. It just screams princess to me!

 Day 37
I took an awesome Pure Barre class!

 Day 38
I got my Magical Express info from my Disney travel agent! She has been so wonderful. Jennifer has helped me plan my Princess race weekend trip for months! If you are planning a trip to Disney contact her here. You don't have to pay her, Disney does so why not get her to help?!

 Day 38
I worked on race signs for my 2 favorite Princess Half Marathon runners, Brooke and Jillian!

 Day 39
I attempted to make strawberry brownies for Valentine's Day. They are pretty good. The cream cheese makes them better!

 Day 40
This was my drive home from work. I loved the snow on the trees! It was beautiful.

Day 41
Another repost from the twins. They are catching snowflakes! Pure Joy.

See you next week!

My Lilly Must Have

Elsa Tops at Palm Village in Asheville

It's no secret that I'm slightly obsessed with Lilly Pulitzer! I love all the fun prints and colors. Wearing Lilly always makes me feel pretty, classy, and put together. One of my favorite items from the Lilly collection is the Elsa top. (I have 10 in my collection!) It is a piece that is easy to throw on with dress pants, jeans, and even shorts.

my neon pink Elsa

From the Lilly Pulitzer website...

Get ready for a style epiphany: this silk blouse is the secret workhorse of your closet. You can wear this long sleeve silk top tucked in or worn out, sleeves pushed up or blissfully long, styled with a belt over leggings, peeking out from under a blazer, draped over the top of a pencil skirt...Elsa is one shirt with an endless number of looks year-round. This season, we're making Elsa's job a little easier by bringing you bright new prints and colors to spice up your collection.
The Elsa is a long sleeve loose fitting blouse with smoking around the neckline.
Every season Lilly releases the Elsa in certain prints. The Elsa is so popular that Lilly is doing an Elsa of the month for the year 2014. They are taking some of Lilly's most popular prints and making them into an Elsa.

In January Lilly released the Elsa in the popular Tusk in the Sun print.

When I heard that Lilly was doing this print I knew I had to have it. I have a shirt in the original Tusk in The Sun print and I love it! The elephants are too cute! Since I wear an Elsa one or two or maybe three times a week, I knew I would get a lot of wear out of this top.

This month Lilly released the Elsa in the print First Impression. I still haven't decided if I need to add this to my Elsa collection. I am waiting to see this in the store.

If you are thinking about adding any Lilly to your closet I recommend the Elsa top. You can view the current selection here.

#moeeveryday2014 week 5

Day 29
I didn't take this picture but I couldn't resist reposting it! The girls woke up to snow and they were so excited about going sledding. When I asked them about why they didn't have on gloves, Harper told me that they had pockets! Ha! I love the reasoning of a three year old!

 Day 30
A snow day = workday visits with a coworker's baby! I couldn't resist loving on this cutie pie! Little Macie is a happy baby!

 Day 31
Lululemon bags have some very nice words of wisdom on them! I rewarded myself with some new workout clothes from there.

 Day 32
I completed the 20 classes in 30 days at Pure Barre! Pure Barre is one of my new obsessions.

Day 33
My outfit of the day for Super Bowl Sunday. Go Broncos!
I am a Peyton Manning fan so I was so excited for him to play in the Super Bowl. Unfortunately, I had severe anxiety throughout this game. It did not turn out the way I wanted. I was pretty bummed out about the outcome until I saw the post game interview with Russell Wilson. He gave glory to God and I knew everything would be okay.

Day 34
I'm working on my outfit for the Enchanted Princess Run at DisneyWorld this month. This is my top. It will make its debut in 18 days! The super talented Eleanor at Lilly helped me out!

Day 35
I Facetimed with my precious friend Kelly! She cut 10 inches off her hair and donated it for World Cancer Day. She is pretty amazing! Doesn't she look pretty?

So I have to share this extra picture...
Hadley and Harper had one too many falls in the snow! Love those sweet faces!

My Pure Barre Experience

from the Pure Barre Facebook page

For several years I have been reading about Barre classes. I read about people taking these classes and having amazing results. So of course I wanted to take a class. I wanted to have amazing results too! When I first started looking around my area I couldn't find anything like it. Then one day in the fall I saw where a friend had liked a Barre studio page on Facebook. So I looked at that page and it was Pure Barre Asheville. I knew I wanted to try it out. I found out that one of my friends was taking classes so I started stalking texting her constantly. I asked her so many questions and she was so sweet to answer all my silly questions. I also found out that one of the girls at the Lilly store was an instructor. So I began talking to her about the classes. I probably talked to these girls for a month or two before I took the plunge!

I decided to take my first class during Christmas break. I had heard I would be so sore and I thought it might be a good idea to do it when I could just chill at home if I needed to.

I signed up online and went to my first class. I didn't have any idea what to expect. I was nervous the whole ride over! My social anxiety was taking over too...new things and places have a tendency to give me slight anxiety. I didn't want to stand out by what I was wearing or my lack of Pure Barre experience.  I had read a blog about what to expect at your first Barre class and it said to remember that everyone was a beginner at some point. That helped me some!

When I walked in the Asheville studio I was greeted by the teacher, Flavia. She was so nice and instantly made me feel at ease. Flavia showed me around the studio and explained to me what I needed for the class. I got my tube, weights, and ball and found a spot in the room. Thankfully the class was smaller that day.

The class was very fast paced. We started with a warm up and quickly moved into working out the upper body to sculpt arms. (I used 2 pound weights!)  After arms we moved to the barre to work our thighs. I began to shake immediately which they told me was a good thing! When we finished our thigh work we stretched those muscles. After thigh work was seat work and more shaking! We stretched those muscles after we worked them. Core was next. This was probably the hardest part of the class for me to catch on to. I really had to think about this part and I had to get some one on one instruction after class! The last part of class was the cool down. I couldn't believe it was over. The class went by so fast!

I felt so good after this work out. I was hooked. I signed up for the new client special and for the 20 classes in 30 days New Year challenge.

During the challenge I got a sticker for every class I attended. I got very excited when I got to add a sticker beside my name! I guess the visual was very motivating to me.

This past Saturday I completed the 20 classes in 30 days challenge! I am so happy that I was able to do this. We have had snow days and bad weather which kept me from going on some days but I was able to complete the challenge. Yay me! I didn't measure myself before I started so I can't tell how many inches I might have lost but I can tell it is making a difference. I feel stronger and I am enjoying myself which I think is very important.

One of my favorite things about Pure Barre is that the instructors really care about your form.  They walk around and correct you when you are not in the correct position. The small adjustments make a huge difference. The instructors also give you feedback and praise throughout the entire class. I love the feedback and praise. I guess that is the teacher in me or my need to be a teacher's pet!

I have loved every minute I have spent at Pure Barre working out. It challenges me on a whole new level. I know that all the anxiety I had before I went was built up in my head. The Barre community is very encouraging and friendly. I have become addicted to Pure Barre. I love the instructors. I love the work out. I love the community. I love it all! I look forward to going to the Barre every chance I get!

And one more picture...it's just too cute not to share!
