Hadley and Harper go to Kindergarten

On Friday Hadley and Harper started school.
 Big school.
 Kindergarten.
Part of my heart is a little sad about it. But the other part is happy for them.

They woke up pumped for their first day! They were so excited to get to go to school.
Hadley told me I could put this picture on facebook. She approved it! :)

They were ready to go.

We met Mckinley in the parking lot. They couldn't wait to get in their room!
Ms. Deasy greeted them with a hug at the door. She took them inside and showed them where to put their lunchboxes, folders, snack, and bookbags.

Their desk!

I had to snap a few pictures. I know they won't always think it is cool to have Aunt Moe go with them on the first day of school.
I told Ms. Deasy that I used to be a teacher and I would love to volunteer! I plan on trying to go and help out on my days off and have lunch with my girls!

One last look as we walked out the door.

At the end of the day we picked them up and they were so excited to share about their day. They had a great first day and loved it.  I guess that makes my heart happy.

My weekend visitors

Last weekend I had some special visitors! Jennifer and her girls, Kim and her kids, and their mom, LouAnn, all came to visit the mountains! I love it when they visit. The kids start school next week so this was their last weekend getaway for a while.

The girls needed to so some back to school shopping so we hit up the new Asheville outlets. Our first stop was J Crew to visit one of my former co-workers, Mary.

Harper found some sunglasses and thought she needed to take a selfie.
They found some shoes to try on.

Granny Janet gave the kids some coins to throw into the fountain and make a wish!

It started raining and I think the kids were over shopping so we headed home!

On Saturday we did some back to school shopping at my favorite place, Palm Village!
We have little girl leggings and I couldn't wait for the girls to try them on. They did a good job being fashion models!

After shopping for a while we decided to have lunch in Biltmore Village. I took them to one of my favorite places, The Wayside.
This is so rare...Myles and me in a picture! Sweet Myles rarely lets me hold him.

Of course Harper has no problem posing in a picture with Aunt Moe!

Asheville has a hop on hop off trolley that goes around town. We thought that might be a great way to ride around town and visit downtown Asheville. (I absolutely hate driving downtown. I always ride with someone else if I need to go. I thought this would be a good way to get out of having to drive downtown!)
Just three of my favorite people!

And three more of my favorites

The kids loved being on a bus and not buckled up!

If you look close you can see the Grove Park!

On Sunday it was time to go home.

Love these kids!

It's no secret that I absolutely adore these girls! I know we are not blood family but there is no doubt in my mind that they are my family! I love being Aunt Moe!

Beach trip 2015

Last week I traveled down to Cherry Grove, SC and met my friends for a beach vacation. I was thrilled to be going to the beach. My last beach trip was two years ago when I went to Ocean City, Maryland.

I was not looking forward to the six hour drive. It was long and I was over it by the second hour. I traveled down on Saturday evening so I could spend four days on the beach. It was dark when I arrived so the next morning when I woke up and saw our view I was in awe. I thought it was beautiful. It might not be the an oceanview but it was calm and relaxing.

Our house was on a channel/sound. The lot had water all around it. We spent a lot of time at the house just relaxing and hanging out.

The first day was spent around the pool and this was my view for most of the day.

Harper wanted me to take her picture.

 I love these sweet girls.

Winston, Jennifer's dog, enjoyed his time at the beach too.

We played a few games of cornhole.

Later on that night the kids went crabbing.

Harper has no fear!

The sunset.

The next day we hung around the pool  for most of the day. This is also the day I got sunburned and my laying around the pool ended! I guess not being in sun for two years caught up with me.

We decided to pack up and walk down to the beach. This was my only time seeing the ocean. I know I should be a little sad about that but I was in pain from my sunburn so it was perfectly fine with me.

The girls enjoyed jumping waves
and Myles enjoyed playing in the sand!

The guys went and got some chicken for us and we had a sandy beach picnic. Hadley sat with me for a while and we just chilled.

The whole crew

On Tuesday we stayed indoors for some putt-putt.

My friend, Sara Beth, made us tee shirts for the trip! So we decided that this would be the perfect day to match!
If you look at my arm in this picture you can see how red it is from the sunburn!

A selfie with my Harper! Look how cute the elephant shirts turned out! Thanks Sara Beth!

And look how cute this kid is.

On Wednesday I covered up head to toe in 50 sunscreen and a tee shirt and shorts to sit by the pool to watch these girls swim and read a book.

Hadley jumped off the side of the pool (without floaties) and was so proud of herself!
Kim and Sara Beth opted to stay out of the sun and go shopping! They found these cute rides for the kids to ride around on.

That night we got ready to do something fun! Go to the rides in Cherry Grove!
Sweet cousins

Since it was my last night I watched the sunset for one last time.
