Lilly Inspired Tea Party

On Saturday morning the women's ministry at my church hosted a tea party.  About a month ago they asked for people to sign up to host a table. I knew immediately that I wanted to be a hostess. I became very excited about planning out my table. Of course I wanted to do a pink and green Lilly Pulitzer theme. My inspiration came from an article I saw last year Southern Living. I looked it up and began planning.

When looking at the Southern Living pictures I knew I wanted to have the pink flamingo as my centerpiece. My friend Cynthia mentioned that she had a cabbage soup tureen that I could use to hold my flowers and flamingo. I think it help make my arrangement look even better! 

I had Lilly napkins that I received as a gift with purchase last year in the Chin Chin print that I knew I wanted to use. I asked my friends at Palm Village if I could borrow the Chin Chin table cloth to complete the look.I also had cups in the Chin Chin print that I used as water cups and I added pink and white paper straws for fun!

I added pink tulle bows on the chairs for a little extra touch. I also made pink tissue flowers to hang above the table.

Since the tablecloth was so busy with print I knew I needed to break it up so there wasn't too much print. I bought gold chargers at Micheal's to help with this. My sweet co-worker and friend Lori let me borrow her white dishes with a gold trim. The tea cups I used were from a bridesmaid's tea party I hosted a few years  ago for my cousin Lauren. Mom and I collected them from an antique shop. 

I had a blast planning and putting together my table for the tea party. The other tables at the tea party were nicely decorated too. All the women did an outstanding job putting together their tables.  I liked how they showed each of our personalities.

After we ate our tea party food we had listen to one of the women at my church speak. She shared how we need to be compassionate with people. She said we needed to love on people and let them know they would be okay because God says so in the bible. I enjoyed listening to her speak and thought she did a nice job.

The tea party was a fun event and I look forward to doing more things like this in the future with the women of my church!

November

November.

I have to admit that November was not my best month. I think I was slightly depressed. I was in a strange funk the whole month. Nothing seemed to feel right. So I didn't blog at all. I didn't really do much or feel like doing much. But I did do some things...

 

I traveled with some friends from church to see the Christmas show at the Smoky Mountain Opry in Pigeon Forge, TN. A friend's son is in the show. It definitely helped us get into the Christmas Spirit.

One very exciting thing that happened in November is that Lilly Pulitzer pinned my picture on their Pinterest page! They actually pinned 2 of my pictures the week of Lilly's birthday.

 Life's a Party. Dress Like It!

I got my new Erin Condren life planner for 2014.

I started running again but I have had some terrible hip pain with my running. So I went to the doctor and I am in physical therapy. Right now I am not allowed to run. My Disney half dreams have been modified. I am now going to run a 10k at Disney. Six miles seems more realistic than 13 miles. Hopefully training will begin soon.

 



I got my Lilly puffer vest monogrammed and I love it!  

A friend gave me these Lilly stemless wine glasses. It makes me happy to drink from them. Even if it is just water!

This is Thanksgiving with my dad.

 

I am so blessed and thankful he is still with us. Life could be so different if Dad had not survived his car wreck. Dad is making progress everyday. We just praise God for this miracle in our lives!

 

I am hoping December is better. I did go see my sweet girls last weekend and I have a Santa race coming up. (I have to walk it and I am not sure how I feel about that!)  Seeing Hadley and Harper helped me feel better. They are the best things I know!

Weekend in Pictures

This quote is in my Erin Condren life planner.  I believe in planning and organizing. Being organized just helps my life go smoother. And I have a confession to make - it bugs me when people are not organized! I just think it helps to be organized and have things planned out!

 

Lately I have been obsessed with stacking rings. I had to Instagram my ring stack on Friday. The purple ring is part of the new Silpada Holiday collection. I like it more than I thought I would!

At church on Sunday we celebrated Breast Cancer Awareness. My church does this every October. They hand out bracelets, stickers, and candy. We also honor those who are cancer survivors! I was happy to get the Faith bracelet. I snapped this picture before church started.

 

 

After church I had lunch with this celebrity! My friend Angie is the girl on this billboard! I always tell her its nice to have famous friends. This is her second billboard for her bank! I think they picked the right person to advertise for the bank. The picture is far away but she is wearing some Silpada earrings!

On Sunday afternoon I went to see my Silpada BFF Judy at a party she was doing in Waynesville. She lives a couple of counties away so I wanted to go see her. I loved this part of her display. It was just so simple but so pretty.
